BIG Changes Happening Around Here.....

You may have noticed some exciting changes taking shape at Perception Studio lately—and I’m thrilled to finally share what’s behind them!

For years, I’ve juggled a wide range of photography styles, but marketing that versatility has been a real challenge. Offering “a little bit of everything” often made it harder to connect with clients seeking something specific.

Then, this winter, I had a breakthrough. That clarity sparked the changes you’re now seeing across the studio.

So, let’s dive in—here’s what’s new and what to expect in the future…

Up First: New Logo

I’m in love with the simplified signature-style logo. I wanted to specifically separate and simplify the two categories of things I photograph….Pets (The Art of Loyalty) and People (The Art of Being) - be sure to visit the website landing page for more on what is the motivation behind each Here.

The Pet + People Photographer

If you follow me on social media, you have noticed more pet portraits being posted. I’m specifically going to be addressing this on social media soon. My business has been rooted in photographing people, and I will continue to photograph people, but animals have always had my heart. If some of my regulars have been freaking out a little bit but not wanting to ask, just know that nothing is changing as far as what I photograph. You will always have a place at Perception Studio to capture your family, but I do plan to pursue photographing more of what I love, and encouraging you to capture both your human and fur kids.

New wEBSITE

Not only does it have a whole new look and all new content, you can now visit www.perceptionartstudio.com or www.thepetandpeoplephotographer.com to view our website. Soon, www.perceptionstudioweddings.com will also be merging so that all are hosted at one, simple web address.

New Products

This will also be addressed in greater detail, but I am going back to what I love and offering prints and products again. Yes, digital images will still have a place in our offerings, but I truly hope you see the value in purchasing museum quality prints to display in your home. I’m excited to have samples sitting in my studio again! It brings me joy that delivering digital galleries never can. These products are just above and beyond beautiful.

I know what you’re probably wondering: “Will I still be able to afford these changes?” And that’s a completely valid question.

Yes, my pricing structure is evolving. There will be a range of thoughtfully curated packages to choose from, along with a fully customizable à la carte menu for those who prefer to build their own experience.

While I’ve always aimed to keep my services as accessible as possible, I also have to honor the value of my time, the quality of what I provide, and the realities of today’s cost of living, and I haven’t been doing that.

The truth is, I’ve been undervaluing my work for far too long. I’m not aiming to fit in a box with other photographers and give you what they give you. I want my art AND your experience to stand out. Prices will reflect the value of what you are receiving when you hire me to be your photographer, but a wide range of options will remain.

New Marketing products

My truck will proudly be displaying the new logo soon, as well as the studio front doorway, so be on the lookout for those changes! Also, keep your eye out for new promotional materials (and take some copies of the new business card designs to pass out to all your friends)

What Isn’t changing….

This evolution reflects growth, but what I do remains the same.

My goal has always been to deliver beautiful, lasting memories with exceptional service—and that hasn’t changed. In fact, I’m raising the bar.

After nearly two decades behind the camera, I want my clients to benefit from everything I’ve learned—especially when it comes to turning images into printed art.

For a while, I got caught up in offering what everyone else was: tons of digital images at bargain prices, just to stay competitive. But the truth is, that’s never really been me. What I truly love is creating bold, beautiful, statement pieces—art meant to live on walls, not get lost in hard drives. I’ve been producing work that deserves to be seen and celebrated, not buried in a folder. I’ve realized I’ve been exhausting myself trying to play by someone else’s rules—trying to thrive in a box I was never meant to be in, and I’ve been wilting. If I’m being honest, this winter, I hit rock bottom and said, '“I can’t do this anymore.” Rather than give up, I’ve opted to make some necessary changes.

And they are breathing new life into my art and life. I hope you’ll stick with me through this revitalization!
